  • Submission Policy concerning depositors, quality & copyright

    1. Items may only be deposited by accredited members of the institution, or their delegated agents.
    2. Authors may only submit their own work for archiving.
    3. Eligible depositors must deposit bibliographic metadata for all their publications.
    4. Eligible depositors must deposit full texts of all their publications, although they may delay making them publicly visible to comply with publishers' embargos.
    5. The administrator only vets items for the eligibility of authors/depositors, relevance to the scope of Glyndwr University Research Online, valid layout & format, and the exclusion of spam
    6. The validity and authenticity of the content of submissions is the sole responsibility of the depositor.
    7. Items can be deposited at any time, but will not be made publicly visible until any publishers' or funders' embargo period has expired.
    8. Any copyright violations are entirely the responsibility of the authors/depositors.
    9. If Glyndwr University Research Online receives proof of copyright violation, the relevant item will be removed immediately.

    Preservation Policy

    1. Items will be retained indefinitely.
    2. Glyndwr University Research Online will try to ensure continued readability and accessibility.

  • URLs will continue to point to 'tombstone' citations, to avoid broken links and to retain item histories, with:

  • Errata and corrigenda lists may be included with the original record if required.
  • If necessary, an updated version may be deposited.
  • In the event of Glyndwr University Research Online being closed down, the database will be transferred to another appropriate archive.
  • Request for Withdrawal of an item

    If you feel that content in Glyndwr University Research Online [GURO] infringes UK law, please notify GURO by sending an email to repository@glyndwr.ac.uk including the URL of the record and the reason for the withdrawal request.

    1. Your complaint will be acknowledged and an initial assessment will be undertaken as soon as possible after GURO staff become aware of the complaint. We aim to acknowledge and assess the request within 10 working days of receipt.

    2. Where grounds for complaint are plausible, the material will be withdrawn from public view.

    3. It may be necessary for us to seek legal advice before the request can be fully resolved.

    4. If the request is well founded, the material will be permanently withdrawn from public view, although a metadata record will remain with a note explaining the reasons for withdrawal.
